The Government set legal limits for pollution and we have introduced a Clean Air Zone to ensure Bristol meets those limits within the shortest possible time. Bristol's zone is now live. You must pay to drive within the zone if your vehicle does not meet the zone's emission standards, unless you have an exemption.

Yes, charging your electric vehicle at home is possible! We take pride in helping homeowners across Bristol make the jump to electric vehicles by installing industry-leading EV charging points.
The typical cost of installing an electric vehicle charging point is around £1000-1500, depending on your choice of charger and the difficulty of installation.
The Bristol Clean Air Zone (CAZ) has been implemented to increase air quality in the centre of Bristol. Those with vehicles that do not meet certain emission standards will be charged when entering CAZ zones. Electric vehicles are zero-emission and will therefore not be charged in such zones.
There are exemptions to the clean air zones. You can find out more information about clean air zone exemptions here.
Most EV manufacturers recommend that you stick to between 20-80% battery charge, so based on your driving habits, you’ll want to charge your electric vehicle every three days or so.
The Office for Zero-Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is a team working across the government to support the transition to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).
Although further costs to your electricity bill will be unavoidable with an electric vehicle charging point, there are ways to minimise these costs, such as utilising the charger's smart functionality, off-peak charging, or even incorporating solar.
Domestically, there are grants available for landlords and flat owners/occupiers. For further information, please check out the OZEV website.
The vast majority of people will not need to apply for planning permission to install an electric vehicle charging point as the laws allows charge points to be installed, altered or replaced in areas of off-street parking if:
• They are not within 2 metres of a highway
• Upstands do not exceed 2.3 metres in height or 0.2 cubic metres if wall-mounted.
• There is no more than one upstand for each parking space.
• The property in question isn’t a listed building.
You can find out more information here.
Dedicated units allow faster-charging speeds and smart functionality. Plug-in units aren’t recommended, and our company only install dedicated units which pass our strict quality checks.
This depends from manufacturer to manufacturer. Today, most modern batteries have a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years, but it would be best to check with your manufacturer.
